I put these closers on my medium priced cabinets and now the doors close just like the high priced ones. When I purchased the cabinets, I was offered slow close doors for $12 more each door. The Kwik fix dampers are an incredible investment.

I build furniture and do lots of home improvement. I bought these for Oak kitchen cabinets. They Install easily, but you may have trouble pressing hard enough on the screw to keep the Phillips head engaged in a hardwood like oak. I thought I would have to pre-drill in a hardwood to prevent splitting, but there was no problem using the self-drilling screws provided. Of course, it would be easier to screw in with a pilot-hole, but then you have a sawdust mess in your cabinets. I think these may have an advantage over the similar Blum product because the single mounting screw is directly in line with the force from the door. And they adjust easily by hand. I installed some to contact on the compact hinge, and some just above the hinge. So far, I think the operation seems smoother above the hinge, providing a more square contact directly on the door.

After reading good and bad reviews for the Kwik Fix Damper Cabinet Door Soft Close I ordered less than I really wanted. After using the first batch, I went back and ordered more for other cabinets.
Our kitchen cabinet doors close flush with the cabinet face. These dampers were easy to install and work very well (and are adjustable). One of our bath vanity cabinets has doors that are not flush, with the main part of the door going in past the cabinet face. These dampers would not work on that particular vanity.
Do note that the dampers mount on the HINGE SIDE of the cabinet. I suspect that some people who had trouble with them may have mounted them on the opposite side of the opening.

I have kids…need I say more. Slamming cabinets were standard fare in our house. A few seconds on each cabinet (once we figured out where to install it…mind you it is one screw…that is all, that simple) and pure SILENCE! Not a lot to pay for getting some peace and hopefully more life out of my cabinets. Now if I can only find some reasonably price drawer slides.
